Randall Thomas is the founding partner of Calice Group. Since 2011, Randall has been working in project funding of young ventures, often in frontier markets. He has worked on multiple projects, interfacing with project sponsors for logistics and vetting proposed business concepts, financial modeling and narrative documents for pitchbooks. To date, he has worked on projects in agribusiness, marine vessel leasing, pharmaceuticals, supply chain, finance, power, housing, and infrastructure. Many of these projects have been located in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Mr. Thomas has worked in financial services for over 20 years, the last 13 of them as a software entrepreneur. After 5 years in credit risk management at Barclays Capital, he worked in various aspects of the equity brokerage industry. By co-founding a fintech company in 2001 and selling it in 2005, he gained knowledge and appreciation of the funding cycle of startup businesses. He served on the board of directors at Dale Capital Group Ltd. in Mauritius for 4 years.
Mr. Thomas holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of New York.
Alexandra Shah is a member of Calice Group. Since 2011, Alexandra has focused on providing both financing and operational support to growing companies. She has worked on multiple deals interfacing with both investors and management teams, vetting new opportunities, advising on governance and creating actionable strategic plans for growing companies. To date, she has worked on projects in agribusiness, marine vessel leasing, power, finance, technology, insurance and healthcare.
Ms. Shah has worked in financial services for over 15 years – the last 10 of which have focused on startup companies. She has focused on building successful companies from the bottom up, through right sized fundraising, strong board governance and financing structures that benefit both company and investor.
Ms.Shah holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
